SCREENPLAY


The original screenplay of “...And Suddenly the Dawn” was jointly written by the director Silvio Caiozzi and the writer Jaime Casas. Some situations and characters from the script were based on the literary work of the writer.

Jaime Casas Biography

Writer who was born in the Chilean Patagonia (Coyhaique) on January 27th, 1949.

The National Committee for Books and Reading granted him the most important award to the Chilean Literature for his short story “Delirium Tremens” (Origins editorial, 1999) and for his novel “Un Esqueleto bien Templado” (Lom, 2003).

The literary competitions from the Santiago City Hall awarded the author an Honorable Mention for his novel “El Maquillador de Cadáveres” (Dolmen Editions, 1996) and for his storybook “La Noche de Acevedo” (Dolmen Editions, 1997).

Jaime Casas has also published the novels: “A su Imagen y Semejanza” (Hachette, 1992), “Un Actor sin Escenario” (Lom, 2006), “El Hombre Estatua” (Lom, 2009), “Volver al Laberinto” (Lom, 2012), the nouvelle “Leprechaun” (Lom, 2005) and the book “De Vuelta a la Caverna y otros cuentos” (Lom, 2015).

He was the co-author of the original idea and co-scriptwriter of the Chilean film "...And Suddenly the Dawn" by Silvio Caiozzi (2017).
